Pilot Projects

35ha Pilot Project site in Hashtgerd New Town

The implementation of three real-condition Pilot Projects helps to gain information on subjects otherwise hardly understandable from a foreign perspective. Moreover the Pilot Projects act as an instrument to test the developed concepts and technologies. In order to achieve these objectives and furthermore attain rapid working results coupled with in-depth discussion between German and Iranian partners in the current phase of the Young Cities Project research concentrates on the three Pilot Projects. In later stages of the Project further Pilot Projects will be added building on the experiences of the first Pilot Projects.

In the first phase of the overall Project the three following Pilot Projects are developed and implemented:

• High Technology Pilot Project building
• New Quality Pilot Project building
• 35 ha Area Pilot Project

The Pilot Projects have proved so far to be suitable instruments to gain in-depth information. By close communication on specific topics, especially of the two building projects, map and statistical data could be exchanged between the German and the Iranian partners and procedures as well as cultural and social backgrounds and values could be identified.
