Fassade detail
|
The High Technology building gives the opportunity to implement in an experimental context highly evolved technologies
so far not applied in this combination in Iran. The development and implementation of the technologies is primarily
aimed at enhancing earthquake resistance and energy consumption paying respect to the climatic comfort. The effects
will be monitored in order to identify appropriate technologies to be applied in the further development of Iranian
New Towns.
Innovative high-tech materials and construction methods applied to this building encompass a double-skin façade, a Base Control System, innovative heating and cooling systems, light building materials, EFEP foils and Phase Changing Materials. The implementation of these state-of-the-art technologies contributes to the objective of reducing heating up in summer and cooling down in winter and thereby enhancing the energy consumption of the building. The application of EFEP foils and ETFE blinds supports this approach and is an advantage in a case of hazard too, as these materials are less likely to cause damage to human beings. The improvement of earthquake resistance is sustained by a substitution of brick stone with light building materials such as plasterboard.

The BHRC has provided a plot as building ground for the Pilot Project on the BHRC compound in Tehran, where the two-storey office building will be erected from the end of 2006. During the erection of the building the German side will be involved in the on-site supervision. The BHRC and the German side will cooperatively implement and conduct a measurement programme concerning physical data of the building.
