Bilateral Workshop in Tehran & Hashtgerd NT, May 10th - 12th, 2009

The first 2009 Bilateral Project Workshop was held in Tehran and Hashtgerd New Town from May 10th till 12th 2009. The Urban Concept for the 35 ha Area Pilot Project was finally agreed and handed to NTDC Hashtgerd New Town. On this basis, the further procedure and the responsibilities in detailing the 35 ha Area plans were intensively discussed and agreed. The respective minutes are currently in revision by all parties.

The building Pilot Projects have been successfully advanced: For the New Quality building, the corner stone was laid in a ceremony in presence of His Excellence, Minister Saidi-Kia, Iranian Minister for Housing & Urban Development, in Hashtgerd New Town next to the 35 ha Area; implementation lies with the Housing Investment Company (HIC); monitoring, qualification and evaluation were agreed among HIC, BHRC, NTDC and TU Berlin. Implementation of the New Technology building will be advanced in cooperation of HIC, TU Berlin and BHRC. For the New Generation buildings, procedures for elaboration, responsibilities and research topics have been generally agreed. The respective minutes have been signed by all parties.

The German delegation comprised eleven experts from the Strategic Dimensions Urban Development & Design (Prof. E. Pahl-Weber, Eng. W.-H. Arndt, Eng. S. Seelig, Eng. P. Wehage) as well as Design Structure Energy (Prof. U. Frank, Prof. Dr. K. Rückert, Prof. C. Steffan, Eng. A. Böhm, Eng. J. Grunwald, Eng. F. Nasrollahi) and the Project Center (Eng. F. Stellmacher). From the Iranian side, the heads of BHRC, MHUD, NTDC Holding, NTDC Hashtgerd New Town, HIC as well as numerous experts of BHRC and NTDC participated in the Workshop.

The Workshop also comprised excursions to Hashtgerd New Town, Andisheh New Town, Karaj and a construction vocational training center in Tehran, as well a meeting with Mr. Döscher of the German embassy in Tehran.
